Biography
Emerging British producer and DJ, Ben Hoo, is one to watch. Self taught in music production / composition, piano and drums, he bought his first synthesizer at the age of 14. The first solo material, written under the alias Raiko Matta, was immediately picked up by Joy Kitikonti (Footlovers Music) who subsequently released Hoo's debut, the 'Night EP' in 2007. Further remixes and releases followed in 2007 / 08 courtesy of G-Club Records and Kinetic Groove Records. February 2009 saw the release of Ben Hoo's minimal remix of Rex The Dog's 'Bubblicious'. He's continued to deliver mixes for an impressive roster of artists including Tiga, Moby, Fever Ray and M.A.N.D.Y vs Booka Shade. His remix of Tiga's acclaimed 'Mind Dimension' was liked so much by the man himself that it was stripped onto the digital release of Tiga's album 'Ciao!'. In contrast to his more minimal, tech-house offerings, Ben Hoo's downtempo remixes for Fever Ray and Moby incorporate intricately designed soundscapes and reveal his more reflective musical identity. On the DJ circuit Ben is making a name for himself in both the chill-out and club world has played alongside the likes of Trentemoller, Moby, Tom Middleton, Lulu Rouge, and Groove Armada to name just a few.
Ben Hoo is currently in the studio working on solo material. Discography
